This is my first go at blogging so I thought I'd use the space to explain who I am, why I'm doing this now and what my hope is for this website and the subsequent posts.
First of all, I am a stakeholder engagement specialist, a job that I didn't fully appreciate the true importance and necessity of until I'd been doing it for a few years and fully realised that the skills this profession require are not the 'soft skills' most places would have you believe.
There's not a single project I've worked on that would have a chance of being delivered without effective and efficient engagement planning and delivery. The key is also starting early and before having all the answers.
This leads onto my "why now?" I have learned a lot, shared a lot and enjoy what I do everyday I want a place to get my experience down and share it with others who need to see either, or who are looking for the kind of project delivery support I can offer and advise on.
My hope is that I can connect with some professionals at all stages of their careers, as well as find some great opportunities to help deliver the immense amount of meaningful and impactful work that is going on in the public space.
My focus is around transparency and trust building throughout the process. Nothing builds a brand or reputation more than simple trust building activities, consistency and effectively managing stakeholder expectations. Easy to write, but often very hard to deliver. That's where a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist comes in. I can help develop strategies and implement plans for effective project delivery, as well as manage reactive situations to manage reputation in a crisis period.
Please do check the rest of my site, but if this sounds like the kind of service you need for your ongoing or upcoming projects, please do get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading and seeing you on the next one.
Jack
